Matthew W. Kurylo
Mr. Kurylo is a former U.S. Marine. During his active service, Mr. Kurylo served with the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate at both Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and Quantico, Virginia as a Legal Services Specialist. While serving with the Marine Corps, Mr. Kurylo completed a Bachelor of Science degree at Campbell University in North Carolina and after leaving active duty, he attended law school, graduating from The University of Richmond School of Law.
Before starting his own practice, Mr. Kurylo practiced family law with the Fredericksburg, Virginia office of Livesay & Myers, P.C.
Mr. Kurylo focuses his practice on the areas of family law, military divorce, bankruptcy, drafting of wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, and business and nonprofit formation (to include incorporations and limited liability companies).
Mr. Kurylo is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Virginia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Virginia, the U.S. District Court of the Western District of Virginia and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District of Virginia.
Mr. Kurylo is an active member of the Virginia State Bar, the American Bar Association, the Virginia Bar Association, the Fredericksburg Area Bar Association, the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the Virginia State Bar Sections on Family Law, Military Law, and Trusts and Estates. Additionally, Mr. Kurylo is an active member of the Friends of the Rappahannock and the Marine Corps Association.
During his service with the U.S. Marine Corps Mr. Kurylo was the recipient of the following awards and commendations: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, November, 1, 2002; Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, August 8, 2001; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, November 16, 2004; National Defense Service Medal (Bronze Star in Lieu of Second Award), February 18, 2003; Armed Forces Reserve Medal (with “M” device), February 18, 2003.
Mr. Kurylo was born in Falls Church, Virginia in 1976.
